St. Paul's "SCRIP" Program Information

Note: We are trying to order on the fourth Tuesday of every month if we have enough orders to cover postage. The Scrip cards are usually available the weekend following the order date.

You can hand in an order any time during the month, but the cards will only be ordered on the fourth Tuesday of the month. They will generally then be available for distribution the following weekend. As the need arises, we can alter these policies. If you have not tried, please consider ordering cards.

We thank all those who are participating in the SCRIP program at St. Paul’s. And those that have given a “little extra” to cover the postage costs.

Scrip is simply a word that means “substitute money” – in other words, scrip is gift certificates from national and local retailers. They’re the same gift certificates that you buy at the store. Many popular retailers participate in our scrip program including JC Penney, The Gap, Shell, Pizza Hut, Red Lobster and many, many others. Scrip participating retailers agree to sell gift certificates to our organization at a discount. Member families like yours buy the certificates for full face value, they redeem them for full face value, and our school keeps the difference as revenue. A list of the percentages earned by St. Paul’s is posted on the bulletin board or available online.

Just spend your regular shopping dollars with scrip at the stores that participate in the scrip program! And scrip can be used for just about any household purchase including food, clothing, entertainment, gasoline and even dining out.

For more information or if you have questions, please contact the office or Jean Tousignant. Order forms are available in the office. For information, there is also a website: www.glscrip.com.
